About LendEd

Finding the right EdTech for your school can be difficult.

Who do you turn to for advice?

Who can you trust to guide you?

How can you see beyond the hype to find the EdTech that will make a difference in your school?

LendED is here to help. Developed with the backing of the Department for Education, LendED aims to bring you the best EdTech from reliable suppliers you can trust.

LendED is a non-commercial site. We don’t charge companies to be featured on here, and we don’t take a cut of any sales. But we do insist on quality and reliability. Every product featured on LendED is supplied by a member of the British Educational Suppliers Association, the trade body for the education industry.

To become a BESA member each company goes through a rigorous set of financial and reputational checks and needs to agree to abide by our Code of Practice. Only then will we accept them into membership.

Find out more about BESA

Backed by the Department for Education, technology has the power to transform the way children learn, to lighten teacher workload and to drive school improvement.

The DfE is at the centre of a drive to help schools harness the power of technology. LendED has been developed in association with the DfE as a tool to help power this transformation in schools by matching teachers with the EdTech solution that is right for them. In addition, BESA and the DfE are working together to offer a series of high-quality practitioner-led CPD technology conferences to address the key challenges facing teachers today.

How do I know the EdTech will work?

For most of us, the first thing we do when sourcing new resources is to ask our colleagues. We understand the importance of peer review, which is why every entry on LendED comes complete with a detailed case study showcasing how other teachers have used the product in their schools, and the outcomes they have experienced. Short testimonials offer additional guidance.

Teacher reviews

User reviews are a useful tool to provide an at-a-glance guide to customer satisfaction and product suitability. For this reason we are including a teacher review section at the bottom of each product page. Over time, these will build to provide further reassurance when making a selection. While the site is still in its infancy we have a small number of reviews available, but we expect this to grow quickly.

Try before you buy

We think it’s really important to be able to explore new products in your own time: to give them a try and to test them out with your colleagues and students before making a final decision to purchase. That’s why every product on the LendED site can be trialled without any obligation to buy.

How does it work?

  1. Use the search and filter functions to identify possible EdTech solutions for your school
  2. Read the product entry including the case studies and testimonials
  3. Identify the solution that most suits your school
  4. Request a free trial using the button on the product page
  5. Wait for the supplier to contact you to set up the free trial (usually within 2 working days)
  6. Try the product out in your school, without any obligation to purchase
  7. Decide whether to keep or return the product
  8. Write a review on LendED so other teachers can benefit from your experience
